Bamford Edge Walk

If you’re looking for a short walk with BIG views and an amazing sunset spot in the Peak District, this out and back Bamford Edge walk might be the one.

Steep dusty path with loose rocks up to Bamford Edge
Sheep on the path between lots of lush green bracken

What to expect

There’s a short, steep climb from parking but after the initial hill, the path is relatively flat with amazing views into the valley below and eventually across Ladybower reservoir.

As you’d expect, it does get busy here and the lay-by parking is very limited, as well as very narrow roads to get upto it. We’d advise against heading here at popular times.

Tips & what to bring

As always if you’re heading out for sunrise / sunset pack extra layers as the temperature can drop a lot when the sun disappears, it can also get really windy up here so make sure you’re prepared.
