Shipwreck Walk, Manx Rose On Dulas Bay Anglesey, North Wales

If you like a coastal walk then this shipwreck on Dulas Bay will only add to that. Expect beautiful beaches and a little slice of history. The sea is slowly taking back the Manx Rose, make sure to visit before it’s gone forever.

What to expect

A beautiful coastal walk that leads you to this amazing shipwreck. The Manx Rose has been in this estuary since around 1985. It was moved here with the intention of being sold on but that never happened.

You can get right up to the shipwreck but only at low tide, so make sure you plan your visit around tide times.

Getting there & parking

Lligwy Beach Car Park – LL70 9PQ. This is a pay and display car park and is the safest option for visiting here. We have parked the other side in Dulas before, but its a tiny place with very limited parking so we wouldn’t recommend it. You definitely don’t want to be driving down to the estuary on the tiny road leading to the bay.

The route

From the car park follow the Anglesey coastal path towards Dulas Bay, you’ll see the Manx Rose in the estuary after about one and a half miles. Head back the same way you came when you’re done.

Tips & what to bring

Always check the tide times before your visit – You need a low tide to get upto the shipwreck. The estuary can be muddy so don’t wear your best shoes. Sunset is our favourite time to visit if it fits with a low tide.
