We left the car park and headed up the hill before taking the path to the left, this looped around and upto the statue. From here we continued right back down the hill before turning left at the bottom towards the ponds, we headed back along this same track after a quick cuppa on one of the picnic benches.

Step-by-step

  1. From the car park, head into the country park and up the hill.
  2. You will reach a fork in the trail, head left here.
  3. Follow this path through the woodland and up the hill.
  4. You will see the 'Testing for gas' statue on your right after a short while, follow this path upto it.
  5. After enjoying the view and reading the plaque here, head down the hill the other side and to the right.
  6. You'll go through a gateway, joining the multi user section.
  7. At the bottom here, turn left and head towards the ponds.
  8. There are 2 ponds with picnic benches on the banks.
  9. Enjoy a sit, drink or picnic here before heading back on the path you came.
  10. This time don't head upto the statue but stick with the lower path.
  11. This will take you back to your car.
