This route starts in the Builth Wells before following the river upstream, you’ll cross the bridge to cut across farmland before picking the river back up. Tips & what to bring

This is a great route for a picnic as there are beautiful riverside spots all along the route. We also passed a few wild swimmers on the opposite side and noticed some easy and shallow to get in spots, as always do take care when going wild swimming as it can be dangerous due to hidden dangers including under water currents and cold water shock.

Eat & drink nearby

The are a number of great food spots in Builth Wells including The White Horse, where you’ll get an amazing burger, if you want a homemade style meal, try out The Drovers Cafe and restaurant and for the most delicious cakes we had on this trip try Cwtsh Cafe – the portions here are huge too.
