The George in Castleton is just off the main high street heading up towards Cave Dale. The food is okay and is cheaper than some of the other options in the area.
What is it?
A country pub serving typical food in a relaxed atmosphere. We sat outside on the front but found seating on the back afterwards where you get great views over to Mam Tor.

We were craving nachos and we found them here, so we went for the sharer and 2 waters. They were okay, definitely nothing to shout about but it satisfied our craving. The cheese and sauces were only on the top, in the centre, so lots of dry nachos which isn’t ideal is it. It was also quite pricey, the pizzas looked good though, so maybe we’d try them next time.
