A short but rewarding walk to Dolwyddelan Castle with 360 views, FREE entry and only a 10 minute walk from lay-by parking, this is a must do, next time you’re in the area.

What to expect

Follow the footpath from the lay-by towards the castle and then through the gates and onto the farm track lane. You’ll have open countryside on both sides and a waterfall just minutes down this track before heading up a steady, short climb to the castle itself.

Getting there & parking

There is a small lay-by on the A470, use postcode LL25 0JD to get here.

A simple out and back route from the lay-by, straight up the track to Dolwyddelan Castle and back.

Tips & what to bring

On Friday – Sunday (plus bank holidays) between the 1st of April and the 30th of September, the internal area of the castle is open for viewing 10am – 4pm, so if you’d like to see inside the castle walls, bear this in mind when planning your trip, we wish we did.
